ARIN Announcements Latest announcements from the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN). ARIN, a nonprofit corporation, is one of five Regional Internet Registries that manage Internet number resources such as IP addresses and Autonomous System numbers. ARIN also provides a Whois query tool to find information about organizations that have registered resources with them.

  • Presidents' Day Closing Information
    on February 12, 2026 at 5:00 am

    The ARIN office will be closed on Monday, 16 February, in observance of Presidents’ Day. ARIN’s office will reopen with normal operating hours on Tuesday, 17 February.

  • RIR Governance Document Version 2 Status Report Q1 2026

    The Number Resource Organization Number Council (NRO NC) has compiled a status report on the outstanding topics related to comments received during the consultation on the second version of the RIR Governance Document. This report is a result of NRO NC workshop from 12 to 14 November in Montevideo to review the feedback received across the five RIR mailing lists, input via various webinars and online sessions, sessions held at RIR Meetings, community fora, engagement with ICANN communities and also via the ICANN Public Comment process.

  • RIR Governance Document Second Consultation Summary Report and Next Steps

    The Number Resource Organization Number Council (NRO NC) has completed its qualitative analysis and summary of the community feedback received in response to the second version of the draft “Governance Document for the Recognition, Operation, and Derecognition of Regional Internet Registries” (RIR Governance Document). The second consultation was open from 28 August until 7 November 2025. During this window, the NRO NC received comments across the five RIR mailing lists, input via various webinars and online sessions, sessions held at RIR Meetings, community fora, engagement with ICANN communities and also via the ICANN Public Comment process.

  • Internet Number Resource Policy Engagement Survey Now Open
    on January 28, 2026 at 5:00 am

    The ARIN Advisory Council Policy Engagement Working Group is seeking feedback from the ARIN community to increase engagement with Internet number resource policy development. Please visit the ARIN blog by AC Working Group members Matthew Wilder, Doug Camin, Alicia Trotman, and Lily Botsyoe to learn about the proposed methods to increase engagement. We encourage you to read the blog before visiting the survey linked there. The survey is open to all members of the Internet community until 27 February 2026. Feedback will be used to create an actionable, prioritized road map for future engagement efforts.

  • ARIN 57 Registration Now Open
    on January 21, 2026 at 5:00 am

    Registration is now open for the ARIN 57 Public Policy and Members Meeting, taking place 19-22 April 2026 in Louisville, Kentucky, and online via Zoom. Register for ARIN 57 We are excited to provide opportunities for both virtual and in-person participation and hope you can join us for this free event. Our ARIN 57 agenda includes discussions of multiple draft policies, reports from our Board of Trustees and Advisory Council, a variety of updates from ARIN staff, and more! Stay tuned for a detailed agenda as we get closer to the event.

  • New Features Added to ARIN Online

    ARIN is pleased to present the latest version of ARIN Online, including improvements, new features, and updates. Full release notes are included at the end of this message. Our work on this release has been completed, and all ARIN systems are operating normally. We thank you for your patience.   • Martin Luther King Jr. Day Closing Information
    on January 15, 2026 at 5:00 am

    The ARIN office will be closed on Monday, 19 January, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. ARIN’s office will reopen with normal operating hours on Tuesday, 20 January.

  • IPv4 Waiting List Distribution
    on January 14, 2026 at 1:20 pm

    On Tuesday, 13 January 2026, ARIN fulfilled 149 requests off the IPv4 Waiting List from the 59 IPv4 blocks listed on the IPv4 Addresses Cleared for Waiting List page: https://www.arin.net/resources/guide/ipv4/blocks_cleared/ Prior inferences about the reputation of these address blocks, causing these blocks to be placed on a blocklist, are most likely no longer valid. Fellows may attend ARIN 57 either in person or virtually, as determined by the Fellowship Selection Committee.

    ARIN is pleased to announce the following individuals were selected for and have agreed to serve on the Fellowship Selection Committee for ARIN 57: Stephen Middleton (ARIN General Member) Caleb Ogundele (former Fellow) Atefeh Mohseni (former Fellow) Joe Westover (ARIN staff) Hollis Kara (ARIN staff) The ARIN Fellowship Selection Committee is headed by a member from ARIN’s Office of the Chief Experience Officer and is made up of volunteer representatives from ARIN General Member organizations, the ARIN Board of Trustees, ARIN staff, and previous Fellows. Their collective responsibility is to assess applications and choose Fellows for participation in ARIN Public Policy and Members Meetings and educational sessions leading up to it.
